A Study on Businesses and Workers with Disabilities in Prospective Jobs of Information Technology

Abstract
Jobs in Information Technology(IT) seem promising for individuals with physical disabilities. However, radical change in this field makes stable employment much difficult. This study surveyed businesses and workers with disabilities in prospective jobs of IT to find out the status of their employment environment. Overall, businesses in this field had little knowledge about various government support for businesses that employed workers with disabilities. Workers with disabilities in these jobs mostly had competency to seek and get jobs by themselves. These individuals replied that the government should provide the businesses with programs for understanding of people with disabilities and support for vocational training. Finally, systematic and active information exchange and coordination among vocational training providers, job placement providers, individuals with disabilities, and businesses for stable employment in these jobs were suggested.
